Experience
Large West Coast Medical CenterEngaged to develop an enterprise-wide image management strategy based on identified needs in surgical, pathological, and other services, in addition to radiology and cardiology. Currently engaged to assist with defining requirements and integration options following implementation of a system-wide EMR.
Prestigious New York City area Medical CenterFaced with aging image management technology in both radiology and cardiology, this facility was looking for assistance with the development of an integrated imaging informatics strategy. Following development of an enterprise imaging strategy, HIS assisted with the implementation of a new RIS and PACS in radiology followed by cardiovascular information system updates. The facility intends to implement an enterprise archive solution in the near future.
Major New England Medical CenterWhile initially engaged to assess the current cardiology information system implementation, the assessment quickly pointed to the need for an enterprise image management and distribution strategy. Follow-on efforts addressed cardiology PACS to integrate with radiology for an enterprise-scale image management solution, and to address the image management needs of their cardiology outreach program.
Prestigious New England Hospital SystemAfter a multi-year effort with a single vendor to implement an enterprise-wide radiology and cardiology information system, HIS was contracted to provide an objective assessment and to work with the facility and vendor to better define system requirements and implementation priorities, including an enterprise image management strategy. HIS was further engaged to manage the RFP process for a vendor neutral archive (VNA).
New England-based Orthopedic FacilityAn aging PACS and imminent failure of its primary archive device prompted this specialty-based facility to engage HIS to develop a comprehensive strategy for enterprise image management. Having thoroughly embraced PACS, this facility required a strategy for disaster recovery/business continuity that enabled staff accessibility even when the radiology PACS is down. HIS further assisted with an approach for EMR integration when the facility decided to implement a new EMR vendor.
Washington State-based Medical CenterHIS was engaged to develop a comprehensive cardiology information system strategy for this large medical center’s cardiovascular service area. Assessment of their current operations identified the lack of a cohesive system environment with multiple manual operations, and the lack of adequate hospital information system interfaces. HIS developed a realistic roadmap for updating systems to an integrated solution that simplifies hospital information system interface, and integrates internal cardiology workflow. The facility has integrated the roadmap into their budget cycle planning.
