Operational Benchmarking and Strategy Assessment
Before making technology changes, HIS recommends a thorough assessment of operations to establish a reference point, and build consensus on current issues and change expectations. Our proven processes examine environmental, operational, infrastructure and financial elements of operations to establish a benchmark of the current state. Then, we work with the client to define a future state implementation strategy that fits with departmental, information systems, and business strategies, and is presented in realistic implementation phases. We emphasize realistic expectations, identifying where technology can have an impact and where it cannot. Once a strategy is in place, evaluating and selecting vendors can be a daunting process. Staff have limited time and experience to assess multiple vendors. We work with our clients to define specific site requirements that are then presented to vendors to solicit a uniform response. We assure that departmental requirements are in line with overall enterprise objectives, to avoid duplications and inefficiencies. Applying our proven quantitative evaluation processes, we summarize vendor responses into simple graphic presentation that allows our clients to make an informed decision about who best meets their individual needs. We can further assist with vendor demonstrations, site visits, and contract development, relying on our extensive experience with vendors to assure optimum terms over the life of the contract.
Vendor Evaluation, Selection Assistance
Implementation and Post Implementation Assessment Assistance
Staff can have limited time to address implementation. HIS can provide project management oversight to work with both the facility and vendor to assure a successful implementation.
Often overlooked, Acceptance Testing is a key factor in a successful implementation. We work with you to establish and include system performance benchmarks in acceptance testing. Benchmarks serve as a future reference point to assess system changes. They also serve to provide a means of assessing the impact of technology implementation in support of management goals.
Post implementation, HIS can work with you to address the success of implementation, and make corrections if necessary. Technology is not a short-term investment. HIS can work with you and the vendor to develop multi-year capital plans to assure that your investment continues to meet user expectations
